These awards are presented at the Annual Meeting as an annual recognition of parishioners who have given many years of faithful service to this Cathedral. David Jordan presented the awards and spoke of the unique contributions and indefatigable spirit these persons offer to All Souls.

Thank you Jeanne.

Oz Henry, a native of North Carolina, graduated from Wake Forest University and its medical school as well. He worked for the State as a pulmonologist and was chief of staff at Black Mountain Sanatorium. He is known as a good friend to the Cathedral and to all who know him.
He has been a member of All Souls for many years and served in many capacities, including Senior Warden and longtime member of the Gifts and Memorials Committee and Finance Committee. Oz also helped in the founding of the All Souls Counseling Center and served on its board. He wrote the Church’s thank you notes for many years.
His contributions to the church over the years have been many and are greatly appreciated.
John Hickman
John Hickman has attended All Souls and served his church for many years as a member of the Choir, vestry and Senior Warden.
He chaired the Mission Accommodation Committee, “a vibrant force for five years, discovering and recording the hopes and dreams of the people of All Souls and fostering their will for the implementation of these desires.” This effort led to the 2004 Capital Campaign, the proceeds being used to implement many of the committee’s recommendations.
For his long and dedicated commitment to the project and for the many other ways he has served All Souls, he has our heartfelt thanks.
Jack Ingersoll
Jack has been a member of All Souls since 1995. During this time he has served as a member on the vestry, as Junior and Senior Warden, as a member of the Mission Accommodation Committee, helped plan the 2004 Capital Campaign and was a member of the Finance Committee. He has served on the Capital Campaign Implementation Committee since it was formed and is a longtime usher and Food Booth worker. He has assisted the Dean directly on a variety of projects and as a consultant on Church security and safety issues. He and Sheila provided the start up funds for the Kay Falk Project.
Jack is dedicated to All Souls and is greatly appreciated by its members.
Jack Parsons
A long time member of All Souls, Jack Parsons is a soloist and member of the choir. He did a great job of revising and updating All Souls’ financial practices. He is the current Treasurer and part of the Long Range Financial Planning committee and Capital Campaign Implementation Committee. His service has been invaluable. The present excellent condition of All Souls’ financial position is, in large part, due to his diligence and professional skill.
The congregation is deeply grateful to Jack for his contributions.
Bill Russell
Bill Russell has always made his services available to All Souls in a variety of ways and in a quiet manner. He had perfect attendance while serving on the vestry. He is, or has been, a member of the All Souls Counseling Center board, the Gifts and Memorials Committee, the Endowment Committee, the Finance Committee, the annual Food Booth and continues to serve as an usher.
We all thank him for his long and faithful service.
Diane Russell
Diane has long served the All Souls Community. As Junior and Senior Warden, she was especially helpful to the Dean on his arrival at the Cathedral. She has served on the Stewardship commission, the Adult Education Committee and as a Career Counselor. She has also facilitated many different workshops.
In many other ways, Diane has shown her dedication to our church community and is deeply appreciated for her service.
Linda Spangler
Linda has volunteered her services and knowledge to All Souls faithfully for many years and the following is not a complete account. She has served on the Altar Guild; as a Docent; is active in the Episcopal Peace Fellowship; Loving Food Resources; Early Reading Program; Thanksgiving dinner at the church; and took the lead as chair of the Archives Committee devoting countless hours accumulating, sorting, and for the first time, organizing historical facts about the Cathedral.
The congregation greatly appreciates Linda for all she has done and is still doing for our community.
