Marisa Pharr -- Henderson County Young Leaders Program: building character, leadership, and resourcefulness in young people who show potential, but lack resources; mentoring, monthly educational experiences, and residential camp. Carolina Youth Mountain Bike League: Offering youth from K-12 grade the opportunity to exercise, learn, and have fun in addition to fighting obesity.
Judy N. Rudolph- Buncombe Alternatives: Provides Earn & Learn (a restitution program for delinquent teens) and Teen Court; Legal Aid of North Carolina: Senior Legal Helpline.
Bob Rymell - Asheville Community Band: about 90 musicians rehearsingand performing 4 concerts a year in October, December, March, and Memorial Day. The band gives two scholarships each year to students majoring in instrumental music education.
Lisa Sellers - Church Women United; Ecumenical organization of outreach locally and globally; New Hope Ministry Board Member; Raises money for WNC women's prison facility chaplains.
Mary Sorrells - GED instructor at the Swannanoa Women’s Correctional Center.
David Thompson- Juvenile Crime Prevention Council: Multi-agency organization to ensure services to court involve youth. Partnership for Substance Free Students in Buncombe County; Interagency Management Team: Coordinate multi-agency mental health, social services, education, and health services for children and youth.
