What a year! As 2011 comes to a close, I've got gratitude on my mind and heart. So many wonderful connections, new friendships, new resources, bountiful possibilities. But none of this would be possible without gracious collaboration in an atmosphere of honor and trust. I can't begin to thank everyone one, but I'd like to thank a few that rise to the top.

Todd, who has both supported and guided the growing and expanding ministry and mission of CSR; and the cathedral staff. I not only have amazing co-workers, I have true friends.

Porter and the diocesan staff with whom I meet monthly to collaborate and dream together.

I owe a special debt of gratitude to Tahani Sticpewich, her sons Milo and John, and daughter Miranda. They worked tirelessly and happily to ensure that the Christmas party for Church of the Advocate was a truly magical celebration. Many of our All Souls youth came to Trinity and worked for an entire afternoon to help more than 200 of Asheville's homeless find special gifts in St. Nick's Shop.

As you'll see from the photographs, the Clergy Ember Day, held at All Souls in December, will long be remembered for the warm hospitality shown to the 50 clergy from around the diocese. CSR was asked to provide the program for the morning, and we had a vision of a day rich with care, comfort, and holiday cheer for all who attended. From the moment they walked in the door to the music provided by Milo and John Norlin, each received a warm welcome from greeters Bob Knapp, Susie Stokes, and Joan Tidwell. The stunningly beautiful room decor, thanks to Monroe Moore and Millie Elmore, was so elegant that many thought they were in the wrong place. Each received a personalized wrapped gift, thanks to the generous assistance of Sherry Prazich, Chuck Varner, JoAnne Setzer, and Lorna Dorr. The gift of amazing food Millie Elmore provided, with fresh-baked bread from Susan Weatherford. During the morning program, they were offered an opportunity to have rich and meaningful conversations with each other around goals and dreams they have, both personally and professionally.

And this was only December!

I'm grateful for Sam Portaro, Elaine Sullivan, Bishop Taylor, Rosa Lee Harden, and Sallie Hart, who either provided programming, or support for some of the engaging and valuable programs offered through CSR in 2011.
