Top: Loretta Andrews poses in front of the multiple bags of gifts she and fellow members of the Cathedral of All Souls congregation donated to the Children First/CIS Holiday Giving Program. This program matches local needy children with sponsors. Because of the generosity of The All Souls congregates, over thirty children this holiday season will open gifts that respond to the questions: “What do you want, what do you need, what do you wear, and what do you read.”

Bottom: Members from the Cathedral of All Souls discuss ways they can help end child poverty at the recent Call to Justice event sponsored by the Human Hurt and Hope grant. This event, held at the Cathedral of All Souls, had members from nine local churches come together to get informed on how their congregations can help end child poverty in Buncombe County. Through the experience of a poverty simulation and the use of “tool-kits” explaining how the congregants can complete a variety of tasks from organizing a food drive for Children First/CIS to cultivating tutors for the Literacy Council, the participants were able to bring useful tools back to their congregations.
