With the support of the Cathedral Arts Commission and major input from the Young Adults at All Souls, we are pleased to announce the lineup for the Coen Brothers’ films we will be discussing during the Easter season. We will not be watching the entire films on these evenings. Rather, we invite you to view these films prior to the evening so we can have a conversation about the film, the themes present in the film and how our Christian faith speaks to the questions raised from these themes.
Please know that these films deal with adult situations and contain violence and other images that make them not typical church film fare. The reason, however, for offering this series springs from the realization that our Easter proclamation is offered in a world where violence, evil, chaos and a general sense of “not knowing what to do” remains in close proximity to our message of Resurrection. In reflecting on these films and the questions that come from them, our hope is that we will end up possessing a deeper theological world for making meaning in a world that can appear meaningless. Each evening will begin at 6:30 and last until 8 p.m. Child care will be provided. We will meet in the Warner Building.
