The Asheville-Buncombe CROP Walk will happen on Sunday, October 10 this year. Working through Church World Service, 75 percent of funds raised will be spent in hunger fighting projects around the world while 25 percent will stay in the community and be divided among ABCCM, MANNA foodbank, Loving Food Resources, and Meals on Wheels. Patsy Keever, chair of this walk for the second year, is encouraging all churches to be represented and to help raise money for our local nonprofits as well as to assist in fighting world wide hunger.
Mike Stevenson is heading up the All Souls effort and hopes to exceed the $1100 raised here last year. Watch for more information soon, but mark your calendar now for October 10 and spend a little time that afternoon helping to raise a lot of money in this community effort.
