Education for Ministry

The All Souls Education for Ministry program is off to a strong start for the 2010–2011 program year. The seminar meets every Tuesday, September through June, in the church office.

This year’s program is being mentored by Tom Crook and Bev Gaines. There are 12 students in EFM this year: Marc Asaad, Don Miller, Lewis Sorrells, and Chuck Varner are completing their fourth and final years. Mike Stevenson, John Hickman, Maryrose McWhirter and Jack McWhirter are in their third years. Pat Bell and Nancy Plante are second-year students. Bob Young and Ami O’Neill are beginning their first year.

Education for Ministry is a program from the School of Theology at Sewanee University. The program consists of Old and New Testament studies, Church History and Theology and Philosophy. Students also go through exercises called Theological Reflection. One of the aims of Education for Ministry is to have students identify areas of their ministries.
