Loving Food Resources Challenge

For the past several years during the local public radio fall fund raising efforts, WCQS has allowed LFR to be the recipient of money raised through a one hour challenge. Mountain Food Products, a retail produce business located at the Farmer’s Market, and Greenlife Grocery on Merrimon Avenue, will match the dollar amount raised in that one hour for WCQS. That match will be used to provide fresh produce for LFR clients each Saturday during the next calendar year.

Please consider making a pledge during that one hour which will be 8:00 to 9:00 on Monday, October 18 at 88.1 FM on the dial. Last fall, a record $20,000 was raised from listeners to provide the means to bring in as much as 400 pounds of fresh produce for the pantry each Saturday morning.

Thanks to Michelle Keenan at WCQS, Ron Ainspan at Mountain Food Products, and to the folks at Greenlife for their important roles in providing for those in need. And now, we need the good people at All Souls to help out our local public radio station while also supporting the all-volunteer nonprofit, Loving Food Resources. Call Mike Stevenson at 254-5227 if you have questions.
