Please note there will not be an EYC event Sunday 6th as we prepare to have all hands on deck for the 8th. But don’t miss out on our Sunday School Coffee House. Our fearless leader J.Clarkson will be sharing photos and stories from his recent travels to the middle east, and yes.... there will be donuts.
March 8: Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper Hosted by the EYC!
This event will be a fundraiser for the participants of this Summer’s HEIFER RANCH Learning Center Adventure. We will have at least four Father/Son Griddle Teams, and a number of other volunteer roles that include everything from cutting the Kings Cake and pouring coffee to serving the toppings and collecting money. The decorations crew are asked to show up by 4 p.m. and cooks arrive by 4:45 p.m. Event times are 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. and we will of course need a few EYC members and families to plan to stay and help with clean up. Also, we are in for a treat this year with Jazz Musicians Michael Collings and Jeff Savage performing a guitar duo to add to our atmosphere... and potential for TIPS!.
Friday 3/11–Sunday 3/13: Spring Conference at Valle Crucis for all 8th -12th grade EYC members.
Cost for the weekend retreat is $100 and scholarship and stipends are available. Transportation provided. Registration deadline is March 7th. Registration forms can be found on the WNC Episcopal Diocese website Youth page.
Sundays March 20 , 27 and April 3:
Will be our “Chillin at the Church” Lenten Series. Our theme this year will be PEACE in the EAST. We will gather each evening to experience a simple meal of mideastern foods that are typically eaten in Israel, Palestine and Egypt. Our program time will include film and video on current events and discussion time. Our All Souls EYC members that have participated in the past 3 years of KIDS4PEACE will be invited to serve as leaders of various delegations for some simulated PEACE TALKS.
Looking Ahead...
Saturday April 9th, 11 a.m.:
Service of Repentance and Reconciliation (Repairing the Breach). All EYC and families are invited to attend. The service will take place at Trinity and Presiding Bishop Katherine Jefferts Shori will be preaching.
