Roof Repair Update
You have seen the removal of the tiles from the southern end of the Cathedral. While repair of the wood underlayment was not a huge task, there was one particular area of about 300 square feet on the Hendersonville Road side which was entirely rotted. All underlayment has since been repaired. Old roof tiles are being stored at the Biltmore Estate. The roof has been ‘mapped’ by a computer generated measuring system in order to produce correct sizing for our new tiles. As mentioned earlier, production of the new tiles will take three to four months. Thus, the roof will be covered in roofing paper for the next several months. We again appreciate the care with which the Kestrel Construction group is carrying out its work.
