Room In The Inn is a mobile crisis shelter for 12 women operated in a partnership with 33 area churches, so that a year-round program is in place. All Souls hosted RITI in February and enjoyed the company of 10-12 women each night during the week of Feb. 20-27.
Some sixty parishioners contributed time, food, money, small gifts, and—most important of all—hospitality and love. It was a wonderful week and the guests expressed their appreciation to the parish in a thoughtful card with messages signed by each of the guests. In addition to the delicious meals and warm welcomes, the women enjoyed flower arrangements on the dinner tables, hair trims/cuts one night, a selection of books to choose from, and games to play after dinner at night. It was a wonderful week.
If you have never participated in the hosting of RITI, we invite you to consider joining with others to host a meal or help in some other way beginning Sunday, May 22 for our next installment of this ministry at All Souls. As coordinators, we promise to support all of our volunteers and to be on hand to help each day of the hosting.
We need to replace some of our blankets (twin size) and some pillows (non-allergenic) which have seen better days. If you would like to assist by donating some gently-used items like these, please contact Susan or Mike Stevenson at 254-5227 or KNLSTV@gmail.com.
If you are unfamiliar with RITI, or its parent organization Homeward Bound, we encourage you to look into the Homeward Bound website at www.hbofa.org and learn more about this valuable nonprofit in our community.
