All Souls’ Family feast Set Nov. 25
Thanksgiving is a family feast and all are invited to All Souls’ annual family Thanksgiving potluck on the big day itself, Thursday, Nov. 25. The gathering takes place in the parish hall following the 10:30 a.m. worship service.
The planning committee orders roast turkey, dressing and gravy. All attending are to bring a favorite “trimming” side dish or dessert to serve a crowd. Cost of the feast is $5 a person, $10 a couple and/or family. These donations help to defray the cost of turkeys, etc.
Sign-up sheets will soon appear before and after Sunday church services and in the church office. Put your name, the number in your party and the dish you intend to bring on the sign-up sheet. Chairman Nancy Marlowe said this helps in ordering the turkeys and coordinating the “green beans, sweet potatoes and pumpkin pies.” She added, “If you like baked ham at Thanksgiving, feel free to bring it.”
Volunteers are needed to help in serving the feast and in clean-up afterward. The All Souls’ family dinner is always a festive occasion with food to spare and to share. In years past, leftovers have been given to the WNC Rescue Mission.
