from Robbin Whittington
I spend a considerable amount of time talking to folks around the diocese about programs and resources. I ask what people need; respond to requests; and glean resources others have to share. I am always delighted and inspired by the treasure trove of riches we have in our diocese. The work of the Center is to make sure as many people as possible know about this vast array of gifts and talent.
In November, at our annual Diocesan Convention, CSR will unveil the first phase of an interactive online resource initiative that will eventually hold thousands of resources, including people and programs. Please call or email me to learn more about how you can both benefit from these resources, as well as contribute to them. This program is bigger than any one of us, but working together, we can offer an up-to-date and expansive online portal to rich, engaging, and sustaining resources for our diocese. And technology allows us to engage with the world in ways not possible even five years ago. Please join with others to co-create a vibrant, valuable legacy of our commitment to find and share resources for the spiritual journey; to be a blessing to the world.

Upcoming Events
Sam Portaro is our 2011 Zabriskie Learning Series Presenter on Saturday, October 8. If you have registered, thank you. If you haven't, I hope you'll do so today! The day promises rich conversation and ample time to explore Vocation as a lifelong journey; a journey that commences at birth, and ends with our last breath. Please don't miss this rare opportunity to spend a day with Sam.
Immediately following the Zabriskie program, from 4–6 p.m., we are offering a dinner with Sam to continue the conversation. While the dinner is free, please let us know you'd like to attend.
On Monday, October 10, at St. Mark's in Gastonia, Sam Portaro will be offering a program focused on Vocation and Formation, and how we find our way as communities of faith. This program is free, but you'll need to register so we know how many will be attending.
You can visit the CSR website to learn more about these offerings and to register. You can also call or email Robbin Whittington, CSR director, at 828-274-2681, or robbin@allsoulscathedral.org if you have any questions or want to register and don't have access to a computer or printer.
By the time you read this, our Bishop's presentation on Vocation and the Church will have taken place, but you'll be able to watch portions of his presentation on our website in early November. Please sign up for our monthly e-newsletter so you can learn about opportunities like this, as well as many other offerings.
